Capitol Steps mug shots from their website.

Take time off from homework for a night of non-stop laughter. Mock Convention’s Spring Kickoff Weekend begins this Wednesday, May 6 with a performance by the acclaimed political comedy troupe, Capitol Steps. The Capitol Steps were created in 1981 by a group of former Senate Staffers. They  perform song parodies and skits based on current headlines and political issues.  Although not all members of the Capitol Steps are former congressional staffers, together they have worked in a total of 18 Congressional offices and represent over 62 years of House and Senate staff experience. They’ve been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS and have recorded 30 albums.

The Capitol Steps will be presenting a show based on songs from their recent album “How to Succeed in Congress Without Really Lying”.  They have been a sell-out success on Washington and Lee’s campus before and tickets going fast!  To order your ticket, please visit http://www.wlu.edu/lenfest-center/calendar/capitol-steps. The show will be taking place in Keller Theatre in Lenfest Hall on Wednesday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m.
