Mock Convention invites you to the Spring Kickoff Presidential Issues Panel Thursday, May 7 at 7 p.m. in the Lenfest Center's Wilson Auditorium. The panel will include political writers Carl Cannon and Jay Nordlinger, and Clark Hill Political Law Associate James E. Tyrrell III. It will be moderated by John K. Boardman of Politics William F. Connelly Jr. Our panelists will discuss a variety of topics pertaining to the 2016 presidential election, including how ideological divides within the Republican Party will play out, how the current field is set up, and key issues for voters and for candidates.

Meet the Panel:

Carl M. Cannon is the Washington editor of RealClearPolitics and the former executive editor of PoliticsDaily. He has covered every presidential campaign and major political convention since 1984 and has received the two most prestigious awards for White House coverage – the prestigious Gerald R. Ford Prize for Distinguished Reporting of the Presidency and the Aldo Beckman award for “excellence in presidential news coverage.”

Jay Nordlinger is a senior editor of National Review and Book Fellow at the National Review Institute. He writes on a variety of subjects, including politics, foreign affairs, and the arts. He is also a music critic for The New Criterion and City Arts and for National Review.

James E. Tyrrell III is an Associate in the Clark Hill Political Law practice group in Washington DC. As an associate, he counsels political and corporate clients in political law compliance. He works with "candidates, PACs, Super PACs, state and national party committees, corporations and trade associations on federal and state campaign finance, lobbying disclosure, pay to play, and government ethics laws." He has also worked for the Chief Counsel of the Republican National Committee, the General Counsel of the National Republican Congressional Committee, and the General Counsel of the Republican Party of Virginia
